Reel Passion's Charter Information
Owner
operator and Captain Mark Hoare: Mark comes with many years in the
charter and fishing industries. Respected by all as a quiet achiever
with the ability to put client satisfaction and safety first along with
an energetic and understanding personality which complements Mark's
exceptional seamanship skills local knowledge and instinct. A mechanic
by trade with army training and exceptional cooking skills all combine
to complement our philosophy for providing a professional, friendly, no
stress environment.
The Season:
The
game fishing season runs from January through to late May - June: we
can pick up customers from anywhere along the Northland coast. Anglers
generally wish to travel to where the fish are, thus saving valuable
fishing time cruising to the best spots.
During the off season guests have the choice of dive and bottom fishing trips
or just sight seeing anywhere along the east coast, targeting tuna,
kingfish, hapuku, and snapper. With the compressor on board we can offer
specialist dive trips to the many sunken wrecks and nature reserves
along the East Coast.
We are
surveyed for up to 30 guests inshore for corporate and group charters.
20 to Great Barrier Island and outer gulf. 8 guests to the Three
Kings Islands.
We
are also available for corporate charter
work from the Auckland area.
Some advantages we offer include:

5. Satellite telephone and fax's (weather and currents).
6. Television, dual video recorders and sound system.
7. Thirty five mile radar and under water sonar which picks
up anything within a 1200 metre circumference around the vessel, (Some
are now complaining that we have an unfair advantage because of this).
8. Most importantly we have 'two' customised game chairs,
and because of our width are able to run more rods than most conventional
craft, giving anglers more time in each chair per day, thus giving
each angler 'better odds' per day of catching that elusive
fish. Also because of our speed and stability we are able to fish
in tougher conditions in relative comfort than most.
9. Dive Compressor. Let us also take care of your Diving trip
throughout the year. Having participated in the successful 'Niagara
99'/2002 Extreme Dives The Force Documentary, we look forward to offering special Dive and Dive
/ fishing packages throughout the Year; from any port along the East
coast.
11. Special packages to Great Barrier Island, Stay ashore
accommodation available for landbased fisherman, school groups,
tramping clubs and all keen fishos.
During
July to September we are now doing charters fishing for the giant
blue fin tuna out of Greymouth.
